The girls cross country team at Springstead fed off the win at conference to place an impressive 4th place at the FHSAA 3A District 3 Championships on Wednesday to advance to Regionals.

“We ran the best we have ran collectively all year today. We’ve had a few injuries and the girls were super nervous before the race. I simply said we just need to do exactly what we have been doing and be confident in ourselves and will be fine. We did just that. I am extremely pleased with today’s performances. Front did what we could and needed to do. Middle beat some people we were not suppose to and Alondra Jimenez Capo & Evony Osorio ran amazing today beating out a lot of teams 4th and 5th runners putting gaps in scoring to help the Eagles gain 10 spots more than projected.”

“This collective effort and tight pack continues to really puts us in position to fight for a spot at the state meet.” The lady eagles will race Thursday morning at Fred Poppe Regional Park in Palm Bay hoping to gain that spot in the state championships.
