The Eagle Harriers began their season at the Whispering Pines Invitational, which is a preview of the district championships held in October.

"Admittedly we got a little too excited today. Our top varsity guys just went out to hard in an effort to hang with some competitors that put us in oxygen debt later in the race. It is a learning experience as we are still a younger group of talented runners," Graham exclaimed. "We were short two varsity guys due to sickness (three guys who ran where sick earlier in the week as well) and other obligations today, so all things considered it was good to finish in the upper half like we did overall. Theodore Toler had a wonderful race. He is a smart racer and had the best race of his high school career so far. It's encouraging to see how much he has improved over the course of a year," coach said.

On the JV side today Onyx Schmidt and Tyler Stevens helped our newbies run in their very first 5K. "The learning process has begun as the realize just how to conquer a 5K efficiently and effectively. Almost every newbie exclaimed that they could have run much faster throughout the course of the race but learning to pace themselves is the name of the game!"
