Lainee Mercer (Cross
Country)- Lainee finished 2nd out of 184, with a time of 19:06:13 at the Storm
Classic! Lainee is #1 on the all-time girls SHS list with a time of 18:10:30!
Theo Toler (Cross Country)-
Theo finished 19th out of 208, with a time of 17:50:60 at the Storm Classic!
Theo is #7 on the all-time boy SHS list with a time of 17:21:20!
September
Avery Brewer (Cross
Country)-Avery ran cross country and track her freshman year before suffering
from a fractured shin. After taking the year to recover, she is back as a
varsity athlete this year. Avery commits to putting in the work and has also
stepped up to serve as co-captain. Her team spirit inspires everyone and we
appreciate her highlighting our XC season with the entire school at the
homecoming pep rally. At the North Port Invitational on September 20th, Avery
ran a personal best of 23:53.
Collin Mindt (Cross
Country)- Collin has bounced back from a major injury that he suffered
during track season last year. He has rested and rehabbed and is back to peak
cross country condition. In September, Collin became the 2nd all-time Boys Cross
Country leader with a time of 16:33.63. He is roughly 15 seconds away from
being #1 all-time! I look forward to seeing Collin qualify for the state
competition for the second year in a row!
October
Keirra LaCorte
(Swimming)- Keirra had an outstanding month in the pool this October,
dropping an incredible 36.7 seconds in the 500-yard freestyle over the course
of just three meets! Her hard work and determination paid off as she earned a
spot at Regionals.
Parker Moore
(Swimming)- Parker had an outstanding month in the pool, qualifying for
Regionals in the 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle, and the 400 freestyle relay.
Throughout the season, Parker has consistently led the team with hard work,
focus, and a strong competitive drive, setting the tone for the entire program.
His dedication and leadership have been key to the team’s success.
November
Amanda Soults (Girls
Soccer)- Amanda delivered an impressive month, tallying 15 goals and 4
assists in just five games and demonstrating remarkable consistency,
versatility, and impact all over the field. Her playmaking ability, leadership,
and positive influence on her teammates has made her as a key contributor to
the Springstead girls soccer team.
Evan Serrano (Boys Soccer)-
Evan had an remarkable performance in goal this past month. He
recorded an impressive 7 shutouts and 8 wins, allowing only 3 goals in total—an
incredible testament to his skill, focus, and consistency. Evan even contributed
offensively, scoring a goal of his own. His leadership, composure under
pressure, and ability to elevate the entire team make him a standout candidate
for this recognition.

Comp Cheer Team -
Traditional (A. Blevens, J. Brown, C. Bui, B. Chamberlin, A. Harshbrager, S.
Istvan, I. Lewars, O. Lewis, C. Lightner, L. Lopez, A. Lyon, V. Magyar, A.
Perry, C. Varela)- The team had an outstanding month of December
highlighted by major competitive success and strong leadership. The team earned
a bid to UCA Nationals, a significant achievement that reflects their hard
work, discipline, and commitment to excellence. They also captured 1st place at
the Battle in the Jungle at Hernando, showcasing their skill, energy, and
execution on the mat. Beyond their competitive accomplishments, this year’s
squad is made up of true leaders who consistently demonstrate unity,
accountability, and support for one another. Their strong leadership, togetherness,
and dedication to one another set the standard for what it means to represent
Springstead High School.
Dylan Spatola (Soccer) -
Dylan had an outstanding December, finishing second on the team with 11 goals
and 3 assists while consistently contributing to team success. He pairs his
athletic performance with excellence in the classroom as an IB and AP student
maintaining a 4.44 GPA. Dylan’s dedication, leadership, and commitment on and
off the field has played a key role in the team’s success.
January
Oscar Castro-Cordero
(Wrestling)- Oscar competed with determination and grit throughout the month,
consistently representing Springstead on the mat against tough competition. His
effort and competitiveness helped the team in January duals and positioned him
to contribute as the season headed toward districts and postseason competition.
Kayla Blohm
(Wrestling)- Kayla had an outstanding month of January. On January 17th,
she earned a 1st place finish in the 100 lb weight class at the Lady Bash,
showcasing her toughness and technical ability on the mat. Her focus and
determination were evident throughout the tournament as she battled her way to
the top of the podium. Kayla’s strong work ethic and competitive drive continue
to make a positive impact on our program.
